Several months ago now, our American Lake property remodel was just starting to take shape. Here’s how it looked back in January:

And here’s how it looks today:

With the roofing complete, the Fatboy Construction team got to work on installing beautiful cedar shingle siding. This siding gives this home a rustic, craftsman feel. Cedar shingle siding, while costlier than other options, weathers beautifully and requires little maintenance. It also provides a distinctive look. Consider the difference from the “before” photo above!
When we started this project, the property had a detached carport. As you may recall, we removed that structure.

Then we constructed a fully enclosed garage. It received the same cedar shingle siding as the rest of the house. Here’s how the garage looks today:

We also constructed a custom breezeway that connects the garage to the home. The breezeway was built in tiers to beautifully accommodate the slope of the property.

Here is an inside view of the breezeway, approaching the house. The door will open to a children’s playroom.

We are pleased with the progress of this project! In our next post, we’ll share what we’re doing with the deck.
